Gold Pin Award for Catalina Workshops
Catalina Workshops has received a Gold Pin at the Best Awards 2018 under the category Spatial - Repurposed Spaces.
The Best Awards is an annual showcase of design excellence across graphic, spatial, product, interactive and motion, along with four boutique awards.
The Catalina Workshops building was originally a hangar and workshop for Catalina flying boats from 1930. The building is defined by its diagonally braced hangar doors and the large double height interior entry volume formed in raw concrete and riveted steel roof trusses above. Awarded in the category for Spatial – Repurposed Spaces, the award reflects excellence in design, build and fit-out. Designed by Cheshire Architects, developed by Willis Bond & Co and built by LT McGuinness.
